Make it easier for SMEs to take advantage of trade agreements including CETA and CPTPP.

What success looks like

SMEs are aware of existing opportunities for export markets and government services to support export related activities.

Government's narrative on progress

Part of the Export Diversification Strategy, as proposed under the 2018 Fall Economic Statement, includes $10 million over 3 years (starting in 2019-20) to increase small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs') awareness of export supports available to them and to increase the capacity of export-oriented SMEs to enter new markets abroad through export training.

Note: this is the government's own description, not an independent assessment.
