Government's narrative on progress
Cross-country engagement sessions to better understand the barriers faced by minority groups in Canada were completed in March 2019. Collaboration with other government departments is ongoing to ensure the robustness of a future federal anti-racism approach. Budget 2019 earmarked $45 million over the next three years for a new Anti-Racism Strategy, including the creation of an Anti-Racism Secretariat.
