Government's narrative on progress

The government established a new Policy on Results in July 2016 that aims to improve how its institutions measure, evaluate, and report results. The policy also seeks to improve how departments and agencies gather and use evidence to inform decisions. As of December 2018, all departments have fully adopted the new policy. Following the announcement in Budget 2018, a Central Performance Impact and Assessment Unit to undertake innovation performance evaluations on an ongoing basis has now been established.
